The Fairmont State University Engineering Technology Annex project included the construction of two structurally independent additional stories above Wallman Hall. The additional stories were completed by building a support system to straddle the first two floors. Through value engineering, Landau Building Company redesigned the straddling support system and reduced costs by $1.6 million.
The completed structure includes state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, and technology centers, all housed behind a modern, gleaming exterior.
“The Engineering Technology Building is an outstanding addition to the Fairmont State University campus… These facilities offer contemporary equipment and interactive classroom technology to aid in the instruction of our college students.”
