LEETSDALE INDUSTRIAL PARK
BUILDING 900
2010 NAIOP Pittsburgh
Best Green Builidng/Industrial

PROJECT: New Pre-Engineered Metal Builidng
OWNER: Chapman Properties
ARCHITECT: Next Architecture
LOCATION: Leetsdale, Pennsylvania

Leetsdale Industrial Corporation – Building 900 is a 70,000 square foot pre-engineered metal flex office warehouse.
Landau Building Company constructed the core and shell. Specific strategies were implemented by Landau to achieve LEED Certification.
The HVAC equipment was protected from exposure to dust and odor by storing off site until all other indoor construction activities were complete. Once installed, the HVAC equipment remained sealed until the tenant fit-outs were complete. No toxic materials were used inside the building.  All painting and caulking activities were on the exterior of the building. Solar Reflective Paints were used on the roof to achieve LEED credits. Sensitive and porous building materials such as insulation were sealed in plastic to prevent exposure to moisture and dust. The final completed project rendered that 73% of the building materials were recycled and over 47% of the materials were locally harvested.
