Designation reflects firm’s continued growth under new generation of leadership 

 

Pittsburgh, PA, – November 24, 2025 – Landau Building Company, a construction manager and general contractor serving Western Pennsylvania and Northern West Virgina, has received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by WBEC East, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Construction Management from the University of Pittsburgh and is a LEED Green Associate and Certified Healthcare Constructor.

Cameos of Caring Award Gala

       

 

This past weekend, our Vice President of Preconstruction Services, Christopher Priest and his family proudly supported his wife, Meghan Priest, BSN, RN, ONC, as she was honored at the Cameos of Caring Awards Gala, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. 

Representing UPMC Shadyside Hillman Cancer Center, Meghan was recognized for her outstanding dedication to patient care and leadership within the nursing community. Each honoree is nominated by their facility for demonstrating exceptional clinical decision-making, serving as patient advocates, and inspiring others as role models in healthcare. 

We’re proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and honor the lasting impact nurses make each and every day.

Landau Building Company Announces New Preconstruction Manager

Landau Building Company is pleased to share that Craig Bender has taken on a new role as Preconstruction Manager. 

Before joining Landau, Craig worked as a Project Architect at NBBJ in New York City, where he led design coordination and planning for complex, large-scale developments. 

Since joining Landau in 2023 as an Assistant Project Manager, Craig has quickly become an invaluable member of our team. His strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate client needs have made him a key contributor during the preconstruction phase of several of our most challenging projects. 

In his new role, Craig will focus on supporting our estimating efforts and advancing business development initiatives, further enhancing our ability to serve our clients and strengthen long-term partnerships.

2025 Annual Super’s Meeting

 

The Landau Team recently came together for our Annual Superintendent’s Meeting, where President Jennifer Landau kicked things off with the State of the Union, reflecting on all our hard work in 2024 and gearing up for an exciting 2025! 

We welcomed new faces, shared the progress of our safety committee, and held a training session to help our field get the most out of our new project management tools. And of course, we enjoyed great food and even better company! 

A big thank you to the Andrew Carnegie Library & Music Hall for hosting us. They’ve been an incredible partner for 20+ years, and it was great to share this special space with our team. Here’s to another memorable year ahead!

Summer Intern Spotlight

 

As the summer comes to an end, we’re celebrating the awesome contributions of our summer intern, Luke Vittone, as he slides back into the school year. Luke, a Business Management and Economics major from Grove City College, spent his summer diving into the financial side of project management while gaining hands-on experience onsite. 

Here are some of Luke’s key takeaways from his time with Team Landau: 

Biggest Surprise: The fast-paced nature of construction and the many moving parts that keep a project running smoothly, both on and off the job site. 

Valuable Skills: Applying technical skills to the financial aspect of project to avoid making big mistakes.  

Wish List: I wish I had more time to explore other aspects of running a project.

The Board of Directors of the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania (MBA) announced the appointment of Jennifer P. Landau to its Board of Directors. Jennifer will be replacing Jeffrey C. Landau on the board and completing his term.

Jennifer P. Landau is the president of Landau Building Company and brings 23 years of experience and leadership to her new role. She is the first woman to lead the organization in its 130-year legacy. Now in its sixth generation, the family-owned and operated company has developed a broad portfolio of institutional, commercial, and healthcare projects ranging from ground-up construction to major renovations and restorations. In 2006, Landau Building Company expanded its services to include the northern West Virginia area with the creation of the subsidiary Marks-Landau Construction.

Jennifer earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Construction Management from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a LEED Green Associate and a Certified Healthcare Constructor. Her journey at Landau began in 1999 as a co-op student, transitioning to full-time in 2001. Starting as a project engineer, Jennifer’s roles evolved to include estimator, project manager, vice president, and currently president. In her current role, she focuses on expanding the company’s relationships while overseeing both preconstruction and construction projects.

Jennifer is eager to join the MBA Board of Directors, stating, “I am thrilled to be a part of the MBA Board, and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of our association and our industry.”
