WVU Law School Expansion & Redesign

Landau Building Company recently finished additions and renovations to West Virginia University College of Law.  This completed a portion of WVU’s $26 million expansion and redesign of the law school. Landau completed 30,000 SF of additional space, which included classrooms, the John W. Fisher II Courtroom, conference rooms, the Hazel Ruby McQuain Dean’s Suite, a faculty office wing, a multi-purpose event hall, and offices for the Center of Energy and Sustainable Development. Also included was a new entrance  and rooftop garden, complete with sitting areas for the students and staff. Other renovations to the school will continue throughout the next two years during summer and winter breaks, which will provide additional meeting/interview rooms and centralized student services.

Since the law school remained open and fully operational during construction, the safety of all students and faculty was a major concern. Tight coordination between WVU and Landau Building Company allowed for events to continue as planned and walk-throughs of donors, faculty, and facility personnel to occur as scheduled. Shut-downs of utilities were timed to keep the school functioning accordingly.
